Where Are All The Bands ?

When I started to learn to play the bass guitar in 1974 and looked forward to joining my first “Band” that was the first reason I started playing and listening to music. To hangout, play, rehearse, and create music together with other people was thrilling and felt like “US” against the world. Now the Solo performer, Producer du jour, Brand emphasis, Social media artiste, seems to be all that’s left of popular music.

“Saints of Fire” by Changelings

In 1990 I had the pleasure of playing bass on a recording project with Earl Lundy and Hilary Manning at their Dublin Street, New Orleans home studio. Recently discovered songs recorded at these sessions surfaced from the analog mix vault and were “One Knob Squeezed” by Perry “Lightning” Trest for our 2021 listening enjoyment. “Saints of Fire” by Changelings.
